The Lost Songs

July 24th, 2014, Church of Mary’s Ascension, 9:15 p.m.

Milenkovic_Karamazov1Two charismatic contemporary music scene artists have, shortly after getting acquainted, felt a strong urge to create music together. The result turned out to be a perfect combination of twentieth century musical works all of which are based on traditional music and written by great composers of the century. This is the collaboration between Stefan Milenković, violinist touched by stardust as a ten-year-old boy and Edin Karamazov, guitarist and lute player launched into outer space by his joint venture with Sting. With their concert, named “The Lost Songs” (“Izgubljene pjesme”), they will bring the magical sounds of the far-away Argentina, India and Hungary into the Zlarin night.

Program:

– B. Bartok: Román népi táncok (Six Romanian Dances)
– T. Riley: Cantos Desiertos
– R. Shankar: L”Aube Enchantee (Enchanted Daybreak)
– A. Piazzolla: Histoire du Tango (The Tale of Tango)

The concert will be held this Thursday in the church of Mary’s Ascension, beginning at 9:15 p.m. Entrance is free and donations are being gathered to rebuild the church door.

Fans of the duo will be able to arrive by boat from Šibenik in 7:30 p.m. The return trip home will be organized after the concert.
